(Electro punk – Leeds, UK)
‘Thoughtless Cruelty’ is a stark observation of human cruelty filtered through the band’s grim fascinations including long term nuclear warnings, CNN’s Turner Doomsday Video (opening song ‘From Heaven’ is a partial reworking of the Latin verse from ‘Nearer My God To Thee’, the hymn performed in that video), the writings of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, and the « business as usual » liberal politics which has given way to the global rise of the far right.
Unlike THANK’s previous material, which was largely honed at gigs and then recorded almost entirely live, the pandemic found the band in unchartered territory as they hit the studio having not been in the same building for months, including most of the album’s writing period.

NOTHING WORKS

Nothing Works est un duo poitevin qui oscille entre Noise et Shoegaze. Une guitare fournie, une batterie qui tape : Nothing Works c’est le genre de truc qui frappe et qui prend aux tripes. Leur premier EP « From February to May » , sortie en octobre 2021, n’est pas sans rappeler Girl Band, Unwound ou encore King Krule.
Depuis le groupe enchaîne les dates dont les premières parties de CAMERA, Birds in Row, Bass Drum of Death et W!ZARD, et Il s’est aussi exporté l’été dernier avec une tournée en Angleterre.

MATA HARI
(Garage punk – Montpellier, FR)
Originaire de Montpellier, voici le jeune groupe rock dont vous n’avez pas fini d’entendre parler.
En quelques mois seulement les 4 morveux de Mata Hari se sont crées une véritable identité : concerts sauvages, guitares post punk acérés, textes revendicateurs, rythmique martiale et synthétiseurs hypnotiques. Très marqués par le mouvement punk anglo-saxon, le post punk des 80’s( Joy Division, The Stooges, The Clash ) le groupe n’en est pas pour le moins résolument moderne, au travers des paroles notamment, qui reflètent une certaine société et une génération à la dérive.
