Rose City Band est le projet du célèbre guitariste et chanteur Ripley Johnson, qui joue aussi dans Wooden Shjips et Moon Duo. Le rock country psychédélique de Rose City Band évoque les grands espaces de l’Ouest américain et les esprits libres qui s’y sentent chez eux.
Le nouvel album Garden Party est une célébration de l’été et de tout ce qu’il apporte : les rassemblements communautaires, les répits offerts par la nature et l’appréciation de la beauté la plus simple, des tournesols de 12 pieds à une carotte contorsionnée plantée au printemps. La liberté, le contentement et la joie sont les sources des chansons. Des solos de guitare planants aux rythmes entraînants, des élégantes lignes de pedal steel aux grooves de l’orgue, Garden Party restitue l’énergie d’un groupe live dans ses moindres détails. Ripley Johnson est accompagné de certains des meilleurs musiciens du rock contemporain: le guitariste de pedal steel Barry Walker, le claviériste Paul Hasenberg, le bassiste Dewey Mahood (alias Plankton Wat) et le batteur Dustin Dybvig.

BODYWASH (21h30)

Bodywash formed in 2014 as a vehicle for the sonic bond between Chris Steward and Rosie
Long Decter. The Montreal duo conjure a dreamscape with airy vocals, intricate guitars and
pulsating synths over a heavy rhythmic foundation. In 2019, they released their debut LP,
Comforter, which received praise from Bandcamp Daily, NPR Music, Clash Mag and elsewhere.
This spring, they released their anticipated follow-up, I Held the Shape While I Could via Light Organ Records, which finds the band experimenting with glitching drones and cascading vocals while exploring themes of dislocation and decay. The band hit the road in the support of the record for a series of headlining dates across North America as well as festival spots at SXSW, Treefort Fest, Sled Island and more.

« Alorda » is the solo project of Chilean musician Diego Alorda. After a decade of active participation in Santiago de Chile’s rock scene and the release of two albums as part of the Psych Rock band Fando, Diego embarked on a musical journey that led him to Paris, where he sought to embrace new musical dimensions through his solo project.In 2020, he unveiled his debut album under the pseudonym « Alorda » titled « La Lucidez del Abismo. » This album was meticulously crafted and produced by Chilean producers Ismael Palma and Hernan Godas, cementing his emergence as a solo artist. Since then, Diego has collaborated with diverse artists and groups, such as Mala Daga and The Drama Kings. In 2021, Diego showcased his versatility by releasing the single « Lockdown Groove » in collaboration with the French duo « The Return of the Gyoza, » comprised of Virgille Allien and Philippe Thuillier. Currently, Diego Alorda is diligently crafting his forthcoming single, « Walking Through the Darkness, » scheduled for release in November 2023. Drawing inspiration from the musical epochs of the 1960s and 1970s, Alorda’s creative journey traverses various eras and musical genres, including folk, rock, pop, and psychedelia, all infused with a contemporary flair.
