Depuis 1991 avec les provocateurs du psych-rock The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Matt Hollywood a parcouru de nombreux chemins musicaux. De la folk pop de The Out Crowd à l’élégance brumeuse de Rebel Drones, l’écriture de Hollywood vacille entre plusieurs genres, entre expérimentation ludique et profondes émotions.

« Baby Jesus, like their label mates, have a wildly original sound, however Baby Jesus are distinctly more psychedelic than Levitation’s previous offerings, and that’s saying something! The reverb is literally palpable on these recordings, dripping and spilling from the listener’s speakers in contorted, spasmodic fits. This is gnarly garage psych in its truest form right here, folks. No bullshit, no fucking around. The shrieking organ rhythms, the twisted jangling hideousness of the guitar, the tympanic explosion of drums and the screeched Iggy Pop vocals team to create some of the best noise I’ve heard in a long while.

(Psyché rock – USA)

WARGIRL is Matt Wignall’s attempt to conjure the exhilarating feel and analog sound of War, Fela Kuti, Chaka Khan, and other such soulful, socially charged ’70s rock acts. Wignall, best known as a producer for the Cold War Kids, recruited a large cast of characters to bring this vision to life: Cold War Kids members Nathan Willet and Matt Maust on bass and organ (replaced in the live band by Tamara Raye and Enya Preston), percussionists Erick Diego Nieto and Jeff Suri, plus dueling vocalists Anne Dereaux and Marika Dahlin up front.

La tornade Burnin’ Jacks souffle depuis plusieurs saisons déjà sur le rock’n roll parisien. Animés par la soif de crier leur perversion et leur révolte, les cinq jeunes hommes dégoupillent leurs riffs abrasifs et leurs refrains entêtants comme autant de grenades. Connus à Londres, Berlin, Hambourg, Bordeaux, Lille, Rennes et on en passe, les cinq amis n’ont qu’un seul objectif : conquérir les sueurs, les coeurs et les conscience de l’univers entiers.
