The band released their debut E.P “Side One” in 2017 with the follow up “Side Two” landing in 2019. Featuring the lead single “Hollow People” it received over 1 million streams. In 2021 the band released the stand alone single “The Life That We Made”. DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO SUPERSONIC\nConcerts gratuits\, Nuits rock et Disquaire à Paris ! \n \nMAGIC CASTLES\n(Psych rock – Minneapolis\, USA)\nMinneapolis’ musician Jason Edmonds started self releasing music as Magic\nCastles in the late aughts\, and has since refined his dreamy take on psychedelic music\, creating a lush Byrdsian soundscape that has grown more clear and direct over time.\nThe band was discovered by Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre in 2011 who started releasing the Magic Castles’ albums on his own label “A” Recordings LTD.\nThe Magic Castles toured the east coast US with The Brian Jonestown Massacre in 2012. In 2013-14\, the band crisscrossed the US several times\, and in 2015 traveled abroad for a successful tour of Europe and UK. In November of 2019 Jason Edmonds was injured in a serious car accident\, which triggered an outpouring of support from the arts community in Minneapolis\, and fans of the band abroad\, to help pay for his medical bills.\nEventually\, after the pandemic production delays\, the album Sun Reign was released in May of 2021 to wide acclaim. The limited gold pressing on 180g vinyl quickly sold out\, and the single “Lost Dimension” was featured in a season 3 episode of the Emmy award winning HBO series Succession in November 2021. A repress on 180g black vinyl is now available.\nThe Magic Castles also made an exciting return to stage in 2021 & 22\, with new guitarist Izaak Drew and bassist Kristof Marden refreshing the band’s sound. In 2022 The Magic Castles opened for The Brian Jonestown Massacre for ten dates of their 2022 US tour\, as well as touring with The Warlocks on a run through the Midwest before heading into the renown Pachyderm studios to work on their next album. We have to listen to that little voice within\, whispering: rebel against the status quo. This has been the experience of singer\, songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and composer Kate Davis\, where she hits the brakes on the life she thought she knew\, grabbed the creative reins and rebuilt her artistic foundation. As she triumphantly walks away from her previous life as a conservatory-trained jazz musician and into her future as an experimental art – rock singer\, Davis has found a new home within herself. This coming – of – age story is at the heart of Davis’ sophomore album\, ‘Fish Bowl\,’ coming soon via her new label home of ANTI-Records.\nThat urge to rebuild started small. Growing up in Portland where she began playing violin at age five and bass at age thirteen\, Davis later moved to New York City to attend the Manhattan School Of Music. At night\, Davis would sneak down to Brooklyn\, where she watched indie-rock innovators Grizzly Bear and the Dirty Projectors and secretly dreamed of breaking away from the academic rigor of the jazz world she inhabited. In 2014 she was asked by the group Postmodern Jukebox to record a cover of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass\,” which accidentally went viral on YouTube. As a lifelong musician\, Davis felt constrained by the limitations of one viral moment. DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO SUPERSONIC\nConcerts gratuits\, Nuits rock et Disquaire à Paris ! \n \nLAS ROBERTAS\n(Pysch rock – San José\, CRI)\nThe story of Las Robertas new album Love Is The Answer\, out February 3\, 2023 on Kanine\, starts when they met producer Owen Morris\, famous for working with Oasis\, The Verve\, Ash\, and New Order\, at a small art gallery party located in downtown San Jose\, Costa Rica. After the band’s live set\, Mercedes (lead singer) recalls meeting Owen who told her that Las Robertas reminded him of the Velvet Underground. It was a coincidence that Mercedes dressed up like Nico for that show\, and after numerous hangouts in local bars involving many drinks and laughs together\, an idea evolved of working on an album together.\nThe result is Love is the Answer\, an album where the Welsh producer successfully highlights Las Robertas love of 90’s alt rock greats like The Brian Jonestown Massacre\, The Dandy Warhols\, The Charlatans\, Lush\, Ride and The Breeders while still sounding uniquely like Las Robertas.\nLas Robertas is a close group of family and friends consists of Mercedes\, Felipe\, Russell\, Daniela and Santiago. During a rainy Costa Rican night\, Russell started playing a riff on a 12 string guitar\, and then Mercedes came up with a melody for a song. While Awakening sounds like a very happy song\, it is really about having hope in times where you think everything is over. A lot of the songs on Love is the Answer were written in hard times and filled with deep sadness. According to Felipe\, it is what pain sounds like. But if you go beyond the sad background of the songs\, you’ll end up with advice full of hope and strength to keep on going.\nLove is the Answer is a compilation of songs about love towards the universe\, individual freedom and of hope in a time where the world seems ever closer to being consumed in chaos.
