Records – Brighton\, UK)\nEvery element of Egyptian Blue’s angular and uncompromising sound brings with it an urgency that is both rare and vital. Their duo of critically acclaimed EP’s to date\, both released via Yala! Records\, have made the Brighton-based band a compelling proposition. Between their jolting\, groove-orientated post-punk attack and their polemic lyrical approach\, the quartet made moves in all of the right places. The tracks ‘Collateral’ and ‘Nylon Wire’ were playlisted at BBC 6Music\, while further support came from Jack Saunders\, Steve Lamacq\, John Kennedy and artistic peers including Joe Talbot (IDLES) and Yannis Philippakis (Foals).\nLifelong friends Andy Buss and Leith Ambrose formed the band in their hometown of Colchester (UK) with bassist Luke Phelps. Initially practicing above a jewellery shop\, they were the epitome of a band reacting to the mundanity of their surroundings. Early jams often devolved into marathon sessions of fourteen hours or more\, made all the more chaotic by the amount of whisky they’d share as well as the growing attention of the local police. Relocating to Brighton\, a turning point came at a King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard gig. Seeing a band that well-drilled made them rethink the work ethic that their own project required. The addition of drummer Isaac Ide completed the jigsaw\, offering a more intense direction for the band\, together with a fresh rush of creativity.\nTheir debut album is due for release in 2023 via Yala! DESCRIPTION:WELCOME TO SUPERSONIC\nConcerts gratuits\, Nuits rock et Disquaire à Paris ! \n \nLES DEUXLUXES\n(Garage psych – Montréal\, CAN)\nFormé à Montréal en 2013\, Les Deuxluxes est un duo rock’n’roll composé de la chanteuse et guitariste Anna Frances Meyer\, et du multi-instrumentiste et chanteur Étienne Barry. Avec son mélange de rock garage mordant\, de mélodies électrisantes et de psychédélisme assumé\, Les Deuxluxes mettent le feu à la scène et envoûtent la foule partout où ils passent.\nSalué chaleureusement par la critique au Québec comme à l’international\, leur premier long jeu intitulé Springtime Devil est paru en septembre 2016. Depuis\, le duo s’est démarqué dans plusieurs événements d’envergure incluant le Festival International de Jazz de Montréal\, le Festival d’été de Québec\, POP Montréal\, M pour Montréal\, GéNéRiQ\, le Festival International de Louisiane et SXSW.\nEntre 2016 et 2018\, le tandem a réalisé quatre tournées en Amérique latine (Chili\, Brésil\, Argentine\, Mexique et Colombie)\, détruisant la barrière de la langue pour séduire une vaste quantité de nouveaux fans. DESCRIPTION:Persona Grata et le Supersonic Records accueilleront le groupe post-punk newwave russe PLOHO du label Artoffact Records le 13 avril ! \n \nPLOHO\n(Post-punk\, new-wave – ARTOFFACT RECORDS – Novosibirsk\, RU)\n«ploho» is a post-punk / new-wave band formed in 2013 in Novosibirsk – a major industrial centre in Siberia. The band focus on a particular lo-fi sound that derives both from their passion to Soviet and British new-wave of the 80s and the lack of resources and absence of proper studio equipment. These factors led to a particular type of sound that was afterwards much borrowed by many other bands from different post-soviet countries. The band combines the cold and loneliness of the Siberian industrial megapolis with traditional post-punk\, adding the stories of hopelessness and pointlessness of struggling with a police state\, at times with irony and sometimes with a glimpse of hope. «ploho» romanticises the life of the common man living in an old housing complex and sings of the unremarkable lives of ordinary guys like these\, nostalgic for the 1990s and early 2000s\, with its VHS and tape cassettes. \nRegardez:\nhttps://www.youtube.com/@PlohoBand/videos\nEcoutez:\nhttps://plohoband.bandcamp.com/ \nIn February 2022 the band started recording their last album «When the soul sleeps». The trilogy\, which began with the introverted collection of lullabies\, ‘Sleeping Tapes for Some Girls’\, documents a growing desire to play. Released in 2017\, it was the second album in two years from the U.K. punk band.\nIncluded with Divide was an essay\, written by the band’s friend and collaborator Jake Farrell entitled “An End to Silence” — a fervent political tract that calls out the movement to silence “dissent or plurality of thought\,” specifically post-Brexit.
