Records – UK)\nTrois ami·e·s\, une petite ville endormie du sud de l’Angleterre et l’envie de créer quelque chose de fort et d’excitant. Voilà pour les prémices. Une succession apparemment infinie de tubes de garage rock et une série de concerts mémorables plus tard\, Gaffa Tape Sandy a rapidement gagné sa popularité sur les terres anglaises depuis 2015.\nAprès un passage remarqué à l’historique festival Glastonbury en 2017\, le trio a commencé à contaminer l’Europe avec sa frénésie vertigineuse bien dosée de pop noisy et s’est installé à Brighton. Derrière l’excellent EP “Family Mammal” sorti en 2019\, Kim (voix/guitare)\, Catherine (voix/basse) et Robin (batterie) s’apprêtent à dévoiler leur premier album en 2022\, chez le non moins fameux label britannique Alcopop! Their music works as a tightly coiled spring\, loaded with the threat of unpredictability that – via the influence of art school greats like DEVO\, Parquet Courts and Talking Heads – explodes with lawless\, free-wheeling\, joyous abandon.\nWhile it is fair to say that thematically the band takes great pleasure in skewering the concept of a Cruel Britannia – they themselves viewing a world strewn with inequality and a failing-upwards political class – the Brighton art-rock 5 piece never revel in bleakness. Originaires de Villejuif\, les deux compositeurs sont rejoints par leur batteur lors d’un pèlerinage en Angleterre. Après avoir chanté leur mauvais sang à travers les salles parisiennes\, ils sortent leur premier EP en octobre 2021.
