They claim to be an “alternative to alternative rock music” and their fuzz filled\, modern pop offerings more than live up to that claim. North London based Happy Science are not a band in any traditional sense of the word. On pense à Television aux Modern Lovers (oui\, ils sont de Boston…)\, mais aussi Pavement (de Stockton en Californie). On est donc bien dans un rock lo fi\, élégant et raffiné qui ne cherche pas à cacher ses émotions toujours à fleur de peau. Et quand bien même les guitares saturent l’espace\, c’est toujours avec une certaine désinvolture pour mieux laisser filer un chant tout en finesse et en retenue.
