Après avoir envoyé les cinq ou six premières chansons à Karl-Jonas Winqvist (le chef d’orchestre de TSHO)\, ils ont discuté de la possibilité de travailler ensemble. Avec le passage de Yorkston de la guitare au piano\, ils ont réfléchi à leur processus créatif et les changements qu’ils pourraient y apporter\, ce qui a conduit à l’implication d’une chanteuse\, la légendaire Nina Persson (The Cardigans).\nBien que le son de The Great White Sea Eagle soit doux et léger\, l’album est empreint d’humour noir et transmet un message profond sur la vie et le deuil\, la famille et la nature.
