Le son est ambivalent\, mais c’est cohérent. On reste dans le Rock/Pop s’il faut absolument donner un genre. Mais c’est surtout très personnel\, au-delà d’être seulement juste un mélange. Asphalt c’est un projet et un garçon\, pas vraiment un groupe ; même s’il est accompagné sur scène. Il compose et assemble lui-même la majeure partie de ses chansons.\nLe premier EP : « Asphalt\, Volume I » est sorti en Mai 2021. Composé de 5 titres\, on navigue entre les genres cités au-dessus\, avec toujours cette unité\, ce son chaud\, parfois brûlant\, électrique et dansant. L’instrument mélodique principal (voir le seul) c’est la guitare électrique\, comme une colle magique réunissant les espaces musicaux.\nIl entame la sortie d’une série de singles avec « Lost&Found » le 9 Mars 2022\, ouvrant un nouveau chapitre musical. D’abord membre de Blackstrobe aux côtés d’Arnaud Rebotini et Ivan Smagghe\, il prend son indépendance avec le premier album de David Shaw and The Beat\, “So It Goes”\, manifeste personnel d’une techno vocale teintée de new wave. Avec l’album “Jenks” de son projet DBFC\, et la longue tournée qui suit\, il confirme son envie d’exploser les chapelles et de jouer une musique urgente qui n’appartient qu’à lui.\nUn pied dans l’électricité punk\, et un autre dans l’hédonisme club (il a aussi collaboré avec Jennifer Cardini\, Vitalic et produit quelques maxis sous l’alias Siskid)\, Shaw écrit aujourd’hui une nouvelle page avec son nouvel EP “Love Songs With a Kick Vol.One”. Il porte toujours en lui le choc initial de la découverte des premières raves à l’adolescence en Angleterre et ce besoin quasi jusqu’au-boutiste de créer un espace de liberté qui s’exprime dans une écriture qui emprunte à d’autres contre cultures (punk ou garage).
