What began as a bedroom project of sorts (monophonic synthesisers\, 4-track cassette recordings) the project soon blossomed into a functional live unit. Following a self-released cassette single at the start of the year\, the pair spent the latter part of 2018 touring continental Europe and the west coast of North America. Following the release of their LP in February\, 2019 has seen the group tour extensively around Europe\, the south of Spain and the UK. Une succession apparemment infinie de tubes de garage rock et une série de concerts mémorables plus tard\, Gaffa Tape Sandy a rapidement gagné sa popularité sur les terres anglaises depuis 2015.\nAprès un passage remarqué à l’historique festival Glastonbury en 2017\, le trio a commencé à contaminer l’Europe avec sa frénésie vertigineuse bien dosée de pop noisy et s’est installé à Brighton. DESCRIPTION:Supersonic : Concerts gratuits\, nuits rock\, disquaire à Paris \n \nSWEEPING PROMISES\n(Post-punk – Feel It Records – Boston\, MA)\nCaufield et Lira ont commencé à faire de la musique il y a 13 ans dans une petite ville de l’Arkansas. Au cours de la décennie suivante et après s’être installés à Boston en 2012\, le duo est vite devenu incontournable sur la scène underground de la côte Est.\nSweeping Promises\, leur dernier projet\, est né dans un laboratoire en béton désaffecté à Cambridge\, MA. Enregistré avec un seul micro et en mono\, le groupe a terminé son album “Hunger for a Way Out” juste à temps avant le début du confinement. Même s’ils n’avaient encore sorti qu’un single\, la réception était déjà très bonne\, d’abord sur Internet dans le milieu punk et s’étendant finalement au-delà. Le groupe doit la circulation de l’album aux mains expertes de Sam Richardson\, à la tête du label Virginia’s Feel It Records. Sam décrit ainsi le disque : “Des guitares angulaires et des synthés tranchants flottent au-dessus des rythmes bruts pendant que la voix effervescente de Lira Mondal personnifie la musique de Sweeping Promises.
